I’m sharing a series of research tools we received today in response to a FOIA request submitted in May, 2018:
The Department of Justice library is a physical library located in Washington D.C. but also has a number of online holdings. After we got their library catalog (in response to a FOIA request) I’ve been requesting for the last few years documents that might help others in further understanding how the Department of Justice operates (among other things).
The documents produced today are lists of public records research tools, which are available at the DOJ library but weren’t previously publicly available.
The Public Records Guide is a ten-page list of places to look for specific kinds of information on an individual:

The remaining four documents are specific research guides for types of information one might be looking for, including court records regarding a person, professional licensure information, corporate records, and records of assets.
